Here’s the scoop on getting fantastic beach portraits…..
Scheduling:
Our premiere beach portrait session is scheduled about an hour before sunset. Photographing at this time captures the beautiful soft light we are famous for.
During this time no one is squinting and there are no harsh shadows. The sky is that gorgeous blue, pink, or other beautiful sunset color. With that in mind, we schedule one beach portrait session each day at that magic hour of light.
Since our premiere beach portrait session slots are limited (1 per day), we do book up early- usually during the summer we can book up about 2-3 weeks in advance. Clients traveling from out of town often book their appointments months in advance.
What Can I Expect To Invest For My Portraits?
Our Premier Beach Session, where we photograph at sunset and only have one appointment open per evening, requires a $600 minimum investment. Two hundred dollars goes to your session fee and the remaining $400 is credited to your portrait order. Multiple family groups may split the minimum order between them.
The majority of our Premiere beach session clients order a portrait to hang in their home. Our wall portraits start at $419 for a 16×20 size portrait. Our packages are most economical and include wall portraits and gift size portraits and start at $829
The Beaches We Photograph At:
We are on the beach photographing families every day. Therefore we know what to avoid, for instance, where the seaweed is, or where the festival has blocked the beach, or where the beach just isn't as pretty. Why this is important to you is that we will steer you the most photogenic beaches in Galveston and keep clear of delays and wasted time.
Our premier beach sessions are photographed at the best beach for your family needs.
We know where the most picturesque beach is so we can spend all of your time creating memories.
We search the beaches frequently looking for new locations that offer something different and many times we can give you more options to consider. One example is the beautiful beach we found on the west end of the Island. It's very picturesque, with white sand, large dunes and on occassion, there is a log that has washed up that is perfect for posing young children and families. We'll keep you informed about the various beach locations before your session and help you decide on which one is best for your family.

Let's talk about clothing styles that work best for portraits:
The style, color and type of clothing you chose can greatly influence your happiness with your portrait!
You may have seen a photograph where everyone is wearing a different clashing color and thought to yourself that the clothing could have been better thought out.
This is an important part of having a successful portrait created and we can help you decide what style of clothing will be best for your family.
We have important tips about the clothing styles (colors, etc.) that work best for a beach portrait session in our exclusive clothing guide that will help you choose the right colors and styles for your family.
Below is an example of some classic styles & colors that will work well at the beach. We are not suggesting that you make the men wear ties! We have a hard enough time getting them in front of the camera as it is!
This is just a palette of colors that work well at the beach and in groups. You may decide to go with the ever popular navy and white or all white- whatever you decide we’ll be happy to help you along the way. No ties at the beach! This is to illustrate color palettes that work well together and at the beach only!
Kids and Pets
We love kids! With children, our strategy is to allow them to have fun, but in a way that insures we get great portraits.
I have several “games” that I have created that allow the kids to have fun -but are really about getting everyone to relax and get the kids to really smile… not just a "fake or goofy smile"!
These "games" get everyone in position, facing the camera, and ready for a natural, relaxed and fun portrait.
We strongly believe that having everyone enjoy the session (especially the children) is an important part of our mission.
