I am from Louisville, Kentucky where the Kentucky Derby is run!. I came to Houston in 1984 to attend the Art Institute of Houston. I graduated from the Art Institute in 1986. I have always wanted to be a photographer, well since I was in the eighth grade!
After graduating from A.I.H., I had many wonderful experiences in different fields of photography. I have been a newspaper photographer, A medical photographer and a P.R. photographer. But of all the wonderful experiences I have had, owning my business has been the most exhilarating, challenging and rewarding of all.
Every day I tap into the emotional pulse of life. I might create a photograph of a proud grandmother with all her grandkids and then next photograph a beautiful giggly baby, and later in the day after school a high energy, creative, "fashionsita" high school senior.
Every day I am privileged to be able to immerse myself in the emotional journey of creating and capturing the love of families, the spirit of high school seniors and the joy of babies.
We want photographs where we can see into the person and recognize something we cherish or know about them.
But what that means is that I need to have the real smile, the real person, not a posed imposter! So that's the challenging part of my job.
I know that you want to see the personality that makes your loved one real.
Not just a fake smile.
I love my job and if you have ever been around someone that loves their job… you notice that their joy in what they are doing is infectious!
And that makes all of us happy.
That's my job and I love it. Can you imagine a more rewarding job?
